    TREASURE ISLAND COFFEE TASTING

Arabica Roasters held a private coffee tasting event at this year's Hilton Beijing Food & Wine Experience.  The event theme was "Treasure Island Coffee Tasting" and explored the myriad flavors of Arabica Roasters' Green Luxury Coffees grown in some of the world's most exotic tropical islands.

Coffees for this event included a selection of the world's most expensive coffees:  Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy, Jamaican Blue Mountain RSW Esates #1, and Indonesian Sumatra Gayo Kopi Luwak

The coffee tasting and desert pairing was followed by a presentation of a "Certificate of Appreciation" from Lei Chen Wong, Executive Director of the Jane Goodall Institute China (http://jgichina.org/en/), to Hilton Beijing General Manager Stefan Schmid, who accepted the award on behalf of Hilton Hotels in China.  A portion of revenue from Green Luxury Coffees, such as Jamaican Blue Mountain, purchased by Hilton Hotels for Lobby Coffee is donated to the Jane Goodall Institute China in support of their environmental protection initiatives .

Arabica Roasters' event also brought in some media friends, including Blu Inc Media (www.bluincmedia.com), who publish luxury lifestyle mangazines for Asia's wealthy, brand-conscious individuals, Outdoor Magazine (http://e.titan24.com/outside), and Travel & Leisure (www.travelleisure.com.cn), as well a friend from the Wall Street Journal.

Arabica Roasters would like to say a special thank you to Hilton Beijing General Manager Stefan Schmid, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager Charlie Luo, Executive Chef David Scott Ball, and all the Hilton Beijing staff who worked closely with our team to ensure the event went off without a hitch.

Hilton Beijing Executive Chef David Scott Ball and Arabica Roasters GM Stuart Eunson lead the coffee tasting and desert pairings.

VIP Guests listen on, as they sip on Green Luxury Coffees and nibble on the sumptuous deserts.

Chef David worked with the Arabica Roasters team to create special deserts that wonderfully complemented the flavors of the luxury coffees at the event.

    Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy
Flavor:  "Uniquely full-bodied, this Kona is an elite among elites, this is among the most balanced coffees in the world, with light, clean acidity and warm tropical breezes of nut and herbal notes."
Desert:  “Macadamia, Mint & Passionfruit Macaroon”

Jamaican Blue Mountain RSW Estates #1
Flavor:  "Complex, smooth medium-bodied, and balanced, with notes of strawberry and caramel lingering in the corners of the taste."
    Desert:  “Strawberry-Caramel Praline”

    Indonesia Sumatra Gayo Kopi Luwak
Flavor:  "One of if not the most unique coffee tastes in the world. A rich bouquet of leaves, flowers and spices that yields to repeated questioning only by offering new scents in ever-increasing complexity – from mint, dried tobacco, and cumin, to spicy wood and leaves right after a rain. The taste is likewise complex and surprising, with a silky mouthfeel, soft acidity, and hints of thyme, rosemary, lemon zest, raisin, yoghurt, and a bit of plum."
Desert:  "Osmanthus & Sichuan Pepper French Pastry"

    Macadamia, Mint
    & Passionfruit Macaroon
    Strawberry-Caramel
    Praline
    Osmanthus & Sichuan Pepper
    French Pastry

Li Tao and all the Arabica Roasters' staff worked diligently to ensure no cup was ever empty.

Guests carefully compared the complex flavor tones in each cup.

Hilton Beijing GM Stefan Schmid and Jane Goodall Institute China Executive Director Lei Chen Wong have a chat over several cups of coffee.

Liu Jiebin expresses his love for Chef David's pastries.

JGI China's Lei Chen Wong presents a "Certificate of Appreciation" to Hilton GM Stefan Schmid.  Mr. Schmid accepted this award on behalf of all Hilton Hotels in China. Arabica Roasters donates a portion of revenue in the Hilton's name for purchases of Green Luxury Coffees used in the Lobby Coffee Promotion to support JGI China's environmental protection initiatives.

JGI China also recognized other key purchasers of Green Luxury Coffees, such as Leo Liu from EAST Hotel.  EAST Hotel is a major purchaser of Arabica Roasters' Jane Goodall fair trade and low-carbon coffee blends.

Arabica Roasters' key client Liu Jiebin says a few words about environmental protection through coffee.

All smiles as Arabica Roasters' GM Stuart Eunson accepts his certificate.
