We all know that this is the only coffee grown in the United States, (that failed attempt outside New Orleans in the last century doesn’t really count). Well known for its smooth, clean acidity and round flavor, Kona Extra Fancy proves again that volcanic soils, natural shade and careful tending yield great coffees. These beans are carefully harvested and fermented at altitude, sun dried and rested before milling. As one of our favorite growers says, “Happy trees provide great coffees!” The aroma is delicate and best preserved by a lighter roast but the pristine flavor in the cup and the bell like body fully support that development. Not only a great breakfast coffee but a “gentle” cup at any time of day!
