One of the oldest coffee producing countries, Costa Rica imported its first coffee from Cuba in 1729. Today the country is known for its rich, volcanic soil and high water quality, and many times more bags of coffee are produced than Costa Rica has people. Especially smooth despite its richness, key flavors include honeyed-wine and roasted almond on the finish.
